In July 2014, we welcomed our second boat to the family! She is a Custom Built 44 foot Bay Built style boat named "Rock Star". She's a U.S. Coast Guard Inspected Vessel that is licensed to carry up to 28 passengers plus 2 crew members on board! She's powered by a single 375HP, 8.1L, 6081 PowerTech John Deere Marine Diesel that pushes all 21 tons of her at a cruising speed of 15kts. The Rock Star boasts a 15 foot wide beam and a large, comfortable cabin. Give Captain Luke a call and plan your fishing adventure with LJK Outdoors... “the premier Charter Fishing experience on the Chesapeake Bay.”
Some of her amenities include a head (toilet), Heated cabin, dinette, Keurig Coffee Maker, Microwave, SiriusXM Radio, LED lighting, comfortable seating, lots of cup holders, and more!
She was just outfitted with brand new electronics. Among those electronics are the following... three Garmin touchscreen MFDs, Airmar CHIRP Transducer, Garmin Fantom (6) 72 mile Radar w/Doppler Technology, Simrad Auto-Pilot, iCom and Standard Horizon VHF Radios, and an EPIRB
Enjoy this video montage of the boat being built by the original owner Charles Nicholson.

Hello,
I am Captain Luke Koller. Thank you for visiting the L.J.K. Outdoors website. I am the CEO and a founding member of L.J.K. Outdoors, LLC. I am one of the few true full time captains and charter business owners left on the Chesapeake Bay. This is not a hobby for me. This is not a "retirement gig" for me. I don't collect a pension from a former career or have another job on the side. I make my living doing what I am passionate about and I do it very well! I am a TRUE dyed in the wool, outdoorsman! I believe that I have an obligation to perform at a high level for my customers every time they hire me and to do my part in preserving and promoting the heritage of watermen and the outdoors lifestyle.
The Captain's Story:
I was born in Brunswick, Maine but I grew up in Lusby, Maryland. At a young age I fell in love with the outdoors, enjoying all of the natural resources available to me in Southern Maryland. I am an avid Fisherman and Hunter and have been since I was old enough to walk! My love for fishing started when I was young child fishing the Chesapeake Bay with my father. I'll never forget the boat rides we took to the LNG Plant in Dad's 17 foot Chris-Craft to chum for Rockfish! I would dream about how great it would be to make fishing my career. My father, retired Navy and my mother an Elementary school teacher, there were no professional fisherman in my family to lay out a path to success. I would have to chart my own map to success to make it in this business!
By the grace of God, that dream came true for me at the early age of 15, when I landed a job as a first mate on a charter boat, working for Captain Harold Gill on the Emma G. During that time, I was also blessed with the opportunity to fish for Capt. Bunky Conner on the Kathy C, Capt.
Hank Connelly on the Carrie Sue, Capt. Simon Dean on the Red Osprey, and others!
To say fishing is a passion would be an understatement! I even missed my high school prom because it was the night prior to the opening day of fishing season. Despite teachers, adults, and classmates telling me that I would be missing out, I knew that truly THEY were the ones missing out. It was an easy choice for me!
After a couple years of fishing part time, I graduated from high school. I immediately found another opportunity to work full time out of Chesapeake Beach for Captain Mike Harris on the Compensation. It was a great experience that helped me develop a vast knowledge of the Chesapeake Bay and various fishing techniques from one of the greatest fishermen alive. After two years working as a full time mate for Mike, I returned to Solomons.
In 2009, I went to Maritime School and got my USCG Master Vessel Operator Credentials and began running fishing charters as a Captain! In 2014 I found my dream boat which is now known as the Rock Star (formerly Antonia II)! I got a loan, bought the boat, and jumped headfirst in the deep end of business/boat ownership. We formed the company LJK Outdoors, LLC. in 2014 and have not looked back. I love what I do. My story is truly a testament of the old saying "all things are possible through Christ".

There's speculation as to where exactly I found him...was it hitchhiking on route 4? Was it on Groupon? Was it on the back of another boat? The mystery remains! However, don't let that beautiful golden mullet fool you. This man can fish! He may be young but he is the rightful owner of #Hawgcity! So far in his professional career, he has won 2 fishing tournaments and has 8 years of professional experience in both the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic coast offshore fisheries. Chris is also a USCG licensed Master Vessel Operator and Elementary School Gym teacher! It's sure to be a good time when Captain Chris is on board!
When his wife lets him out of the house he’s the hardest working first mate you’ll ever meet! Known for catching the beefiest fish in the Chesapeake, Meatloaf is a true fisherman! Whether it be bottom fishing for Spot or trolling spoonbrellas for Trophy Rockfish, you are sure to catch them when Meatloaf is working on the back of the boat!
When he’s not busy going to Star Wars conventions, you can find him slaying fish aboard the Rock Star! He’s no ordinary man. Daniel is as smart as he is tough. When he’s not busy going to Star Wars conventions, you can find him slaying fish aboard the Rock Star! He’s no ordinary man. Daniel is as smart as he is tough. Some of his greatest attributes are his intense work ethic, being able to diagnose a problem and solve it quickly, his mental and physical toughness, and his masterful customer service skills! I never have to worry if things are getting done correctly on the back of the boat and there's no one I'd rather have on my team than my main man, Danny!
Kolby is best described as WTFO! From the backwoods of St. Mary's County, he grew up fishing the Chesapeake Bay with Capt. Bootsie, Capt. Bunky Conner, Capt. Bo-bo, and others. When it comes to fishing, the man is like a hungry dog after a piece of meat. He can hunt! Kolby will work, work, and work some more to find the fish.
